Artist's Comments

He has a kind of gravely, charming tenor voice, and he prefers not to sing alone.

Lying on my stomach in the damp field, I sang with him while I eyed him on the LCD. As long as I started each verse (Roo, Rooo, RooOOOoooOOOooooo!!!) he would chime in with his version of harmony.

Fortunately, no one was around to hear our impromptu concert. They probably would have laughed till they collapsed from lack of oxygen.

(*btw, please tell me if this is too bright and/or saturated; it shines like the sun on my home monitor where I do my editing, but that monitor is too bright. I wanted it to be bright and colorful, but not ludicrously so.)

It's bright enough to show the details of the dark dog, but not overexposed on the flowers/field..great shot, I laughed as I read your comments about how someone would laugh till they collapsed if they heard the two of you howling.. :D Nice shot, great timing!

Truly amazing scene - you don't seem to have had the snow that one DAer has had in Texas.

This pic was actually taken in the last week of March on a day between two different fronts of storms. There was plenty of sun, and a nice wind, too.

No snow -- sleet and hail in some places, though. It's all over now here. Temps will rise back to their obnoxiously warm norms over the next few days. :tears:

Thanks for the information about the brightness. One day I'll replace my monitor....

Glad you like this one. I wasn't sure if he'd want to sing with all the interesting things to look at outside. He mostly prefers to sing with me in the car, but he was excited enough to get into it after a few incredibly loud, but not-so-musical, attempts at rap-singing.

Yeah, I just calibrated my monitor things were a little dark and the colors were a little off, but it's better now :)

What a beautiful song he must be making! I love to hear dogs howl together when they hear a fire engine or some other wailing sound. My kitties sometmes meow with me if I get them going.

I think that's a wonderful shot! It's bright, but not overly so. It's hard to capture things in bright sunlight like that, but you did an estimable job.

First: brightness is OK, maybe a little bit too bright.
Second: I love the picture and the story. I started laughing when reading it, thanks for that :)

Yes, I agree it's too in-your-face bright. Must be careful not to edit photos when dogs are pushing their noses into the vertical blinds behind my computer and letting in the light. Bad, bad dogs!

I've toned it down a bit. :-)

It's certainly an enthusiastic song -- and loud!! He has the voice of a much larger dog and a penchant for barking right in one's ear that exercises the adrenal glands nicely.
